What colour living room rug should you get?

When choosing a rug for your lounge, the colour of your sofa can be a good starting point. For a grey couch, a rug in a contrasting colour such as a bold red or blue can add interest to the space. Alternatively, a rug in a neutral shade such as beige or white can help to blend the couch with the rest of the room.

What size living room rug should you get?

Size the rug to your sofa, not to the room. A 160x230cm will not reach the sofa at all unless it has a chaise running down one side. A 200x290cm comes right up to the front legs. That is the size most lounge rooms end up with. Go to 240x330cm, 240x340cm or 250x350cm and roughly half the sofa sits on the rug. At 300x400cm the whole suite sits on. Those are starting points, not rules. A deep three seater or an odd room shape will change the answer, so bring your room measurements into the showroom and we will work it out with you.

Once you have chosen a living room rug, you can add other decor items to match and complement the rug. For example, you could add throw pillows, blankets, and candles in colours that match or coordinate with the rug. You could also add wall art, lamps, and other accessories in similar colours or styles to create a cohesive and coordinated look.
