Carpet Tiles
Adore stock 15 carpet tile and carpet plank ranges in Sydney. Thirteen are Belgotex: Academia, Aviator, Equinox, Granite, Grid, Kamio, Monash Cushion, Monash PVC, Rhythmic, Shift, Smooth, Storm II and Terrain. Two more, Mystique and Lakeside, are Airlay commercial tiles. Most come as 500 x 500mm tiles. Terrain and Rhythmic come as 1000 x 250mm planks, which lay like floorboards and suit a corridor better than a square does.
The reason to choose tiles over broadloom is repair. One tile takes a coffee spill, a paint accident or a permanent marker, and you lift it and drop a spare in its place the same afternoon. Nobody recarpets a room. Keep a carton aside at handover and a floor stays presentable for years. Offcuts around columns and door reveals are also a fraction of what broadloom generates, which is where a tricky fitout saves money.
Nearly all of these are loop pile in 100% solution dyed nylon. That matters in a way worth spelling out: the colour is locked into the fibre as it is made rather than applied to the outside, so it cannot wear off the tips of the loops in a corridor and repeated wet extraction will not lift it. Belgotex cartons hold 20 tiles or planks covering 5.0m2. Most ranges are graded Heavy Duty Commercial with a 15 year commercial warranty.
Backing decides two things. On the Belgotex ranges, Flexbac is the standard option and ProBac is a comfort backing that adds underfoot softness and returns an impact sound reduction of dLw 27 dB to AS ISO 717.2, which is what you want in a first floor office or a room above a tenancy. The Airlay ranges offer either a 6mm PVC backing made with recycled content or an 8.5mm PET cushion backing for comfort and acoustics. Fire ratings are published per backing to AS ISO 9239.1, so tell us the specification you are working to and we will confirm the figure for the range you want.
A few ranges are built for a particular job. Academia is Belgotex's education tile, made for rooms that see the same hundred pairs of shoes every day. Terrain takes its designs from landforms, using heavy flecking over a base colour, which is the most forgiving surface a pale commercial floor can have because tracked-in soil lands amongst existing dark points instead of on a clean field. Mystique is a multi-level loop at 4.0mm pile height, with colours like the greyed greens that suit biophilic office design, education and healthcare waiting areas. Monash comes in both a PVC and a cushion backed version of the same five colours.
On the environmental side, the Belgotex ranges are made with waterless solution dyeing and low VOC, under ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 9001, with a GreenTag Product Health Declaration at Platinum Health Certified and a Green Star Responsible Product Value of 16. If you are chasing points on a Green Star project, those are the numbers your consultant will ask for.
You can lay tiles quarter-turn for a subtle chequerboard that disguises traffic, monolithic for a sweep that reads more like broadloom, or ashlar and brick for a staggered pattern.

Carpet Tiles FAQ
1. What size are carpet tiles?
Most of ours are 500 x 500mm, with Belgotex packing 20 tiles to a carton covering 5.0 square metres. Terrain and Rhythmic are carpet planks at 1000 x 250mm, also 20 to a carton and 5.0 square metres.
2. How are carpet tiles installed?
They go onto a clean, dry, flat subfloor, usually with a tackifier adhesive that grips the tile without bonding it permanently, so a single tile can still be lifted later. We install across Sydney, or you can buy supply only and lay them yourself.
3. How do you clean carpet tiles?
Vacuum regularly. Because the fibre is solution dyed, spills can be wet extracted repeatedly without fading the colour. If a tile is beyond cleaning, swap it for a spare.
4. Can you really replace one tile?
Yes, and it is the main practical reason people choose tiles. The one thing to plan for is dye lot: order a spare carton at the same time as the floor, because a tile bought three years later may not match exactly.
5. Are carpet tiles suitable for a home?
They work well in playrooms, home offices, garages and rumpus rooms, where the ability to replace one square earns its keep. For bedrooms and living rooms most people still prefer broadloom underfoot.
6. What is the difference between Flexbac and ProBac?
Flexbac is the standard Belgotex backing. ProBac is a comfort backing: softer underfoot and rated for dLw 27 dB impact sound reduction, which makes a real difference in upstairs offices.
