Westminster - Palpate - 9.5mm Cut Pile Carpet

Palpate is a very dark warm charcoal-brown, and the brown is the whole point of it. It is the only near-black in the Westminster range that leans warm, which makes it the one to specify when Sensor and Tact look too severe and Kinect looks too cold. On the floor it behaves like a deep espresso-charcoal: unmistakably dark, but with enough brown in it to sit comfortably against walnut, spotted gum, tan leather, cream walls and brass. Think of it as the restrained relative of Perma, sharing the same warm temperature without any of the red. It is excellent in studies, media rooms, main bedrooms and hospitality interiors that want depth and warmth at once. The honest limitation is that a very dark carpet shows pale lint and light pet hair, and in a cool blue-grey scheme the brown will look slightly off, where Kinect or Sensor would land correctly.

Westminster is Belgotex Premium Solution Dyed Nylon, tufted cut pile, 9.5mm total thickness, over a FusionBac backing and supplied 4.0m wide. With the pigment locked inside the fibre, a warm dark colour like this holds its tone rather than drifting grey under sunlight, and the carpet is stain proof, fade proof and anti-allergenic, tolerating the sort of cleaning that would leave a lighter mark on a piece-dyed carpet.

The construction is a deep 9.5mm plush, soft and dense underfoot, and Belgotex single the range out for its superior sound absorption. That is worth knowing for apartments, upstairs bedrooms and any room where you want the acoustics to feel closed and quiet, which suits the mood a colour like Palpate is usually chosen for. It carries an AS ISO 9239-1 fire rating and is rated Extra Heavy Duty Residential and Heavy Duty Commercial. Environmental credentials include low VOC emissions, a solution dying process that uses no water, ISO 14001 certification and SBTi targets set.

Belgotex back Westminster with a 20 year residential and 10 year commercial warranty, the longest they offer on carpet. Supply and install available across Sydney.
