Westminster - Sensor - 9.5mm Cut Pile Carpet

Sensor is a near-black charcoal, and the distinction between it and Tact is small but worth understanding before you choose. Tact is the true near-black of the Westminster range, the darkest colour in it; Sensor stops just short, holding enough grey that in daylight it still reads as a very deep charcoal rather than black. In a room with reasonable natural light that softness is an advantage, because the floor has some tonal depth to it instead of reading as a flat void. It is a clean, cool dark with no brown in it, which separates it from Palpate, and it is considerably darker than Bionic. Use it in media rooms, on stairs against pale risers, in studies, and in commercial spaces where a dark floor is doing the heavy lifting for a lighter fitout. As with any near-black carpet, pale lint and light pet hair will show, so it asks for more regular vacuuming, and in a small dark room Bionic will keep the space feeling larger.

Belgotex build Westminster as a tufted cut pile in 100% Premium Solution Dyed Nylon, 9.5mm total thickness, on a FusionBac backing, supplied 4.0m wide. Solution dying matters most at this end of the tonal range, because deep colours are the first to fade unevenly in Australian light; here the pigment sits inside the fibre, so the charcoal holds. The yarn is also stain proof, fade proof and anti-allergenic, and it can be cleaned firmly without a lighter halo appearing where the spill was.

Underfoot it is a full luxury plush, and Belgotex credit the range with superior sound absorption, which is a genuine benefit in apartments and upstairs rooms and in any commercial space where footfall would otherwise carry. It holds an AS ISO 9239-1 fire rating and a dual Extra Heavy Duty Residential and Heavy Duty Commercial usage rating, plus low VOC emissions, solution dying that uses no water, ISO 14001 certification and SBTi targets set.

The warranty is 20 years residential and 10 years commercial, the longest Belgotex give on carpet. Supply and install available across Sydney.
