Coastal Blackbutt - 12mm NuCore Excellence AC4 Laminate Flooring

Coastal Blackbutt is the lighter of the two Australian species looks in the NuCore Excellence range: a pale, sun-washed take on blackbutt with the pinkish warmth pulled back to something cooler and more contemporary. It suits beach houses, renovated cottages and open-plan extensions where you want the timber character without the floor dominating.

Real blackbutt is a hardwood that needs sanding, sealing and periodic recoating, and it will not tolerate standing water. This 12mm laminate gives you the same visual with none of that maintenance. The 12mm thickness is what separates it from the 8mm boards at the budget end: less flex underfoot, less hollow sound, and better tolerance of a slightly uneven subfloor. AC4 rating means it is certified for light commercial traffic, so a family home is well within its limits.

Registered embossing aligns the surface texture with the printed grain, which is the detail that makes a laminate convincing at close range rather than only from across the room.
