Benghazi - Terra - 9mm Scroll Loop Pile Carpet

Terra is the palest colour in the Benghazi range: a warm oatmeal-cream with a soft golden undertone that keeps it from reading as stark white or cold grey. On a full floor it behaves a little like extra daylight: it lifts low-ceilinged rooms, opens up narrow hallways and makes a small lounge feel larger than it is. It sits a clear shade lighter than Sandy, which carries visible greige, and several steps lighter than Dune. Terra is the pick for bedrooms, formal living rooms and homes styled in white, oak and linen. It is also the least forgiving colour here for a busy front entry or a household with pets and small children: if that describes your floor, step up to Sandy or Shell for the same warm neutral character with far more tolerance for everyday soil.

Benghazi is a scroll loop pile carpet from Belgotex, built by running organic curling loop shapes across a linear base so the surface reads as textured rather than flat. The yarn is 100% solution dyed nylon in a matte finish, and that matte quality does the heavy lifting on a pale colour like Terra. Light falls into the loops instead of bouncing off them, so the floor looks like a natural wool or sisal weave rather than anything shiny or obviously synthetic.

Solution dyed nylon has its colour locked into the fibre itself rather than painted onto the surface, which matters enormously on a pale cream: it will not fade or yellow in Australian sun, and spills can be attacked with strong cleaning agents without stripping tone out of the pile. The 9.0mm total thickness gives a low, dense, tightly packed surface that wears far harder than a deep plush, which is why the same carpet is rated for commercial fitouts as well as homes. The varied loop sizes disguise footprints and vacuum tracks much better than a plain cut pile, so a light floor keeps looking clean between vacuums. It rolls at a 4.0m width, keeping seams out of most rooms.

Belgotex backs Benghazi with a 15 year residential and 5 year commercial warranty. Supply and install available across Sydney.
