Benghazi - Shore - 9mm Scroll Loop Pile Carpet

Shore is a darker warm brown-taupe: one of the two deepest colours in the Benghazi range, and the one to reach for when you want weight underfoot without going all the way to the chocolate of Flow. It holds a genuine warmth, so it settles into rooms with timber, brick or terracotta rather than sitting apart from them. Shore and Pebble are close enough to need swatches side by side: Shore is the warmer of the pair, Pebble marginally cooler and greyer. Against Shell it is a clear step deeper. It is the practical pick for entries, rumpus rooms, rentals, home offices and anywhere shoes come in from outside, because a darker warm brown hides tracked-in soil better than anything lighter in the range. In a small bedroom with little natural light it will close the space in. Dune or Sandy keep that room open.

Benghazi is Belgotex's scroll loop pile carpet, constructed by working loops of differing size into a linear base so the texture carries a natural scrolling movement across the floor. The yarn is 100% solution dyed nylon in a matte finish, chosen so the carpet gives the impression of a natural fibre while behaving like a modern synthetic.

Behaving like a synthetic, in this case, means it is genuinely tough. Nylon recovers from compression better than any other carpet fibre, the loop construction resists the flattening and shading that appears along traffic paths on cut pile, and the colour is locked into the yarn during manufacture rather than applied to the outside, so sunlight will not bleach it and a cleaner can be used at full strength on a stain without leaving a faded halo. Belgotex rates Benghazi for Extra Heavy Duty Residential and Heavy Duty Commercial use, which is the reason the same carpet is specified into offices, waiting rooms and aged care. The fire rating is CRF 4.8kW/m² tested to AS/ISO 9239-1. At 9.0mm it is the slimmer and denser of Belgotex's two scroll loop ranges, the other being the 11.0mm Alexandria, and it rolls 4.0m wide.
