Benghazi - Sandy - 9mm Scroll Loop Pile Carpet

Sandy is a light warm greige-beige: the shade most people picture when they ask for a warm neutral carpet. There is enough beige in it to feel soft and enough grey to stop it turning yellow against white walls, and it reads as one calm tone across a whole floor rather than drawing attention to itself. It sits a step deeper than Terra, which is very nearly cream, and noticeably lighter than Dune. That extra depth is the practical difference: Sandy absorbs everyday traffic, sand tracked in from the beach and the odd dropped crumb without showing every mark the way a pale cream does. It works through open-plan living areas, bedrooms and hallways, and pairs easily with oak, warm white, tan leather and brass. If your home is styled in cool greys with black fixtures, Breeze will sit better against it.

Belgotex makes Benghazi as a scroll loop pile, running loops of varying size across a linear grid so the surface carries a soft organic movement instead of a uniform flat face. The yarn is 100% solution dyed nylon with a deliberately matte finish, which gives a mid-tone neutral like Sandy the appearance of a natural fibre weave rather than the sheen most synthetics give themselves away with.

Solution dyeing means the colour is mixed into the nylon while it is still liquid, so it runs right through the fibre rather than sitting on the outside of it. In practice that is why Sandy will still be Sandy after years of afternoon sun through a west-facing window, and why a spill can be treated with strong cleaning agents without a pale patch appearing where colour has lifted. The build is rated Extra Heavy Duty Residential and Heavy Duty Commercial, so it is specified into offices and shops as readily as houses, and the varied loops break up light enough to hide footprints and vacuum lines. At 9.0mm it is a low, dense profile. This is the slimmer of Belgotex's two scroll loop ranges, the 11.0mm Alexandria being the taller build, and the 4.0m roll width keeps seams out of most rooms.
