Coastal Oak Chevron - 14/3mm Corsica Engineered Timber Flooring

Coastal Oak is a pale sandy cream with a warm cast and, more than any other colour in the Godfrey Hirst Corsica Chevron range, plenty of visible character: open knots, filled surface checks and clear grain movement from board to board. It is the choice for a room you want to feel relaxed rather than formal, and the pale tone keeps a chevron floor from reading as heavy, which is the usual risk with a strong pattern.

Worth being clear about what you are buying: this is a true chevron, not a herringbone. The boards are cut at an angle so the ends meet in a continuous point down the length of the room, which is why they come as matched left and right pairs and why the pattern reads as one unbroken line rather than interlocking rectangles. It is genuine engineered timber underneath: a 3mm French Oak veneer on a 14mm multiply substrate, matte UV cured lacquer with a light brush. That 3mm veneer can be sanded and recoated two or three times over the floor's life, which is what separates engineered oak from every printed look-alike on the market.

Godfrey Hirst back it with a 25 year timber limited residential warranty, and the veneer is PEFC Chain of Custody certified, so the timber is traceable to sustainably managed forests. P4 slip rating under AS 4586, Green Building Council compliant for VOC emission limits, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified manufacturing. Boards are delivered at 8-11% moisture content and should be acclimatised on site before laying.
