Natural Oak Brush Chevron - 14/3mm Corsica Engineered Timber Flooring

Natural Oak Brush is the untinted one: a warm golden honey that is simply what French Oak looks like with a clear lacquer over it and no stain pulling it grey or brown. It is the warmest of the four Godfrey Hirst Corsica Chevron colours, with open knots and a light brushed texture that catches the light. If you have looked at a lot of greige floors and found them flat, this is the antidote.

This is a true chevron rather than a herringbone: the boards are cut on an angle so their ends meet in a continuous unbroken point running down the room, which is why they are supplied as matched left and right pairs. Underneath the pattern it is genuine engineered timber: a 3mm French Oak veneer over a 14mm multiply substrate, finished in matte UV cured lacquer with a light brush. The 3mm veneer is the reason to choose engineered over a look-alike: it can be sanded back and recoated two or three times over the life of the floor, so a scratched or tired floor in fifteen years is a refinishing job rather than a replacement.

It carries a 25 year Godfrey Hirst timber limited residential warranty, and the veneer is PEFC Chain of Custody certified. The timber is traceable to sustainably managed forests, which is worth something on a genuine timber floor. P4 slip rating under AS 4586, Green Building Council compliant for VOC emission limits, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified manufacturing. Boards arrive at 8-11% moisture content and should be acclimatised on site before laying.
