Corsica Chevron Engineered Timber Flooring
Corsica Chevron is Godfrey Hirst's engineered French Oak in a true chevron, four colours. Chevron is not herringbone: the boards are cut on an angle so their ends meet in a continuous unbroken point down the room, and they are supplied as matched left and right pairs, 10 of each in a box of 20 covering 1.55m2.
It is genuine engineered timber, not a printed look. A 3mm French Oak veneer sits over a 14mm multiply substrate, finished in matte UV cured lacquer with a light brush. The 3mm veneer is thick enough to be sanded back and recoated two or three times across the floor's life, which no hybrid, laminate or vinyl can do at any price.
The colours in this range are deliberately restrained, and that is the point. A chevron floor is already a strong pattern, so a quiet colour lets the geometry do the work instead of fighting it.
Slip rating P4 under AS 4586, fire CRF 3.8kW/m2 with smoke at 17% to EN ISO 9239. The veneer is PEFC Chain of Custody certified and traceable to sustainably managed forests. ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified manufacturing, Green Building Council compliant for VOC emission limits.
Boards arrive at 8 to 11% moisture content and need acclimatising on site before laying. Chevron takes longer to lay than straight planks and the set-out line governs the whole room, so it is worth having installed properly rather than attempted as a first project. Backed by a 25 year timber limited residential warranty. Sydney supply and install, or supply only if your installer has done chevron before.

Weathered Oak is not the rough silvered grey most people picture from the name. It is a muted pale greige with a soft grey-green cast running under it: the smoothest, calmest and most neutral of the four Godfrey Hirst Corsica...

Coastal Oak is a pale sandy cream with a warm cast and, more than any other colour in the Godfrey Hirst Corsica Chevron range, plenty of visible character: open knots, filled surface checks and clear grain movement from board to...

Natural Oak Brush is the untinted one: a warm golden honey that is simply what French Oak looks like with a clear lacquer over it and no stain pulling it grey or brown. It is the warmest of the four...

Coffee Oak is cooler than the name suggests. It is a smoked grey-brown rather than a warm coffee, heavily brushed, with strong open grain and dark knots that carry right through the board. It is the darkest and most dramatic...
