Whisper - 3mm Lakeside Commercial Carpet Tiles

Whisper is a mid grey in the Lakeside range with a fine crosshatch texture woven through the loop, a lighter and darker grey crossing each other so the tile reads as fabric rather than as a flat colour. It sits between Flint, the plain mid grey, and Storm, the darker blue-toned grey, and it is the most textured of the three.

That texture is the practical reason to choose it. Crosshatch patterning hides footfall lines, chair-castor tracks and the marks between cleans better than a plain tile does, which suits corridors, open-plan workstations and meeting rooms that see heavy use. It pairs with white, pale timber and black steel, and it takes a coloured accent tile without competing.

The tile is a multi-level loop pile in 100 percent solution dyed nylon, so the grey is locked into the fibre rather than applied to the surface, and it will not fade under cleaning. Pile height is 3.0mm and total thickness 5mm, which clears most door swings without trimming, on a PVC backing with recycled content or a cushion back.

Tiles are 50cm by 50cm and lay quarter turn, brick or ashlar; laid quarter turn, as in the photograph, the crosshatch forms a subtle checkerboard. Supply and install available across Sydney.
