Argent is a pale warm greige: an oatmeal-toned board with visible grain striation and a touch more warmth than the name implies. It is not a cool silver; it sits between Alpine's true greys and its blondes, which makes it one of the easiest boards in the range to furnish around.

Luxury vinyl earns its place on height and comfort. At 3mm it goes over an existing floor without raising the level enough to matter: no trimming doors, no rebuilding thresholds, no awkward step up to an adjoining tiled area. Hybrid and timber at 8 to 9mm regularly create all three problems in a renovation. It is also softer, quieter and warmer underfoot than a rigid core product, which suits bedrooms, living areas and anywhere people stand for a while.

If you are weighing Argent against its neighbours: Pine Mist is distinctly greyer and Snow is paler and smoother. Argent is the one with the most visible grain of the three, which helps it disguise dust and everyday marks.
