Our kids rug ranges

Amigo is our carved kids range: a bear, a panda, a pink unicorn, a pink rabbit, a rocket ship, a little town with roads to drive toy cars along, and a scatter of stars. The designs are carved into a 13mm heat-set polypropylene pile, so the shapes stand out in 3D. Most come in 80x150cm runner, 120x170cm and 160x230cm.

Happy is a high pile range in greys with soft colour: two elephants with linked trunks, a fairy, butterflies and hearts, a floral border, a soccer ball hitting the net, race cars, and a storybook scene with houses, a fox and a sailboat. Sizes run from an 80x150cm runner up to 160x230cm, depending on the design.

Freestyle 408 is a pink butterfly design.

Nursery rugs

For a nursery, softness matters more than a picture. Our fluffy rugs, Heaven 800 and Paradise 400, include powder pink, pastel pink, white, ivory, silver, beige and taupe, and give tummy time and crawling a soft landing. A plain colour also outlasts a theme, so the rug can stay when the cot goes.

If you expect spills, Peri 100 is a machine washable rug with a floral pattern in powder pink, grey, graphite and beige.

Choosing by age

Babies (to 12 months): soft, plain or gently patterned, and big enough to cover the play mat area.

Toddlers (1 to 4): this is when animals, rockets and fairies earn their place. A carved Amigo design gives little fingers something to trace.

Older kids and playrooms (5 and up): wear and cleaning come first. A town or soccer design suits play, and a washable rug suits a room that sees craft and snacks.

Choosing the size

Beside a cot or single bed: 120x170cm, or a small rug for a tight room.
A play area or the middle of the room: 160x230cm.
Along the bed or a hallway: the 80x150cm runner.
A reading corner: a round rug.

Keep it in place

Put an anti-slip underlay under any rug a child will run onto. It stops the rug sliding on timber or tiles.

Kids rug questions

What is the best rug for a nursery?
A soft, low-fuss rug in a calm colour. Heaven 800 and Paradise 400 are both super soft high pile rugs.

How do I clean a kids rug?
Blot spills straight away with a clean cloth and a little mild detergent, and do not rub. For rooms that see a lot of mess, choose a machine washable rug.

Will my child grow out of a themed rug?
Often, yes. If you want one rug to last through the years, go plain or softly patterned and change the theme with bedding and wall art.

Do you deliver kids rugs Australia-wide?
Yes. Delivery is free on rugs over $50, AfterPay is available, and you have 21 days to return a rug. If you are in Sydney, you can also see them at our Auburn showroom.
