Swish Oak Natura - Oak Dove Grey - 14/3mm Engineered Oak Flooring

Oak Dove Grey is the clearest case in this range of a name that will send you the wrong way. Dove grey suggests a soft pale grey; the actual swatch is a warm greyed tan, a light tobacco oak with brown and gold clearly present and only a thin smoked grey wash over the top. Standing next to Oak Grey Harmony, which is a genuine mid grey, the difference is not subtle. It is far closer in tone to Belfort Oak or Raw Caramel than to anything grey. Choose it if you want a warm mid-tan floor with a softening grey overlay; do not order it sight unseen expecting grey, because you will be disappointed.

As a warm mid-tone it is one of the more practical decors here, dark enough to hide dust and light enough to hide grit, with enough grain movement to disguise the fine scratching that hallways and family rooms accumulate. It handles traffic, pets and children better than any of the pale options. The warmth makes it an easy companion for existing oak furniture and timber joinery in a partial renovation, and it sits well with warm whites, greens and natural linen. It works against a strictly cool grey and monochrome palette.

Swish Oak Natura pairs a 3mm sawn oak veneer with a dimensionally stable engineered core to make a 14mm board in a well-proportioned 190 x 1900mm size, with micro-bevelled edges on all four sides. The Tongue and Groove profile gives you a genuine choice of installation method: glue down for a solid, quiet floor bonded to the substrate, or float over underlay for a faster and more easily lifted result. Because the wear layer is true oak rather than a printed decor, the surface can be sanded and refinished over the years rather than only replaced. A 3mm veneer supports fewer of those cycles than a 4mm one, which is the trade-off against the Wideboard range. Like all engineered timber, it needs acclimatising on site first.

This range meets E1 low-emission requirements with VOC levels measured below 5ppm, so it is a sound choice where indoor air quality is a consideration. As with all real timber floors, individual boards differ in colour and grain, and the floor will change subtly with light exposure over the years, which is worth anticipating around rugs and furniture that shade parts of the surface.
