Odense Grey is lighter than a true grey and warmer than you might expect: a light cool greige with a definite pink-lilac undertone and white limed grain running through it, closer to weathered stone than to charcoal. Within the Natura range it sits a shade deeper than Ambient Sand and noticeably lighter and pinker than Oyster Grey, which is its nearest grey relative. Compared with Oak Grey Harmony it is paler and far less neutral. Choose Odense Grey for a soft, light, slightly blushed grey floor that keeps a room feeling warm rather than cold; avoid it if you need a true neutral grey with no colour bias, because the pink is real and it does show.
Light greiges with a warm bias are easier to live with than pure cool greys, because they do not make a room feel cold on an overcast day and they are more tolerant of warm timber furniture nearby. That makes this a sensible pick for a living room or bedroom where the palette is not fully resolved. The limed grain gives some camouflage for fine scratches, though the pale body still shows dark grit and rubber scuffs more than a mid-brown would, so an entry mat earns its keep.
Swish Oak Natura is engineered oak built for practical Australian installs: a 3mm sawn oak wear layer over a stable multi-ply core, 14mm thick overall, in a 190 x 1900mm plank with micro-bevelled edges. Boards use a traditional Tongue and Groove profile, which means the floor can be either glued directly to the substrate or laid floating over underlay. Those two methods are not interchangeable in cost or feel, so it is worth deciding early: direct stick is quieter underfoot and works well over concrete slabs, while floating is quicker and more forgiving. The 3mm oak face is real timber with enough substance to be sanded and refinished during the floor life, though not as many times as a thicker 4mm veneer would allow. Engineered timber must be acclimatised on site before it is laid.
Swish engineered oak is manufactured to E1 low-emission standards with VOC levels below 5ppm, so the floor contributes very little to the indoor air of the home it is laid in. Bear in mind that real timber veneer varies in colour and grain from board to board and will continue to shift gently under light over the years, deepening or mellowing depending on exposure. That is characteristic of natural oak rather than a fault, and it is the reason you should always look at a physical sample in your own room instead of judging tone from a screen.
