Obsidian Herringbone Hybrid Flooring

Obsidian is HTT Flooring's SPC hybrid herringbone, six designs on 625 x 125mm blocks at 9mm. Every one is laid as herringbone, which is what the block proportion is for.

The appeal is that it gives a new build character an older house has by default. Herringbone began as oak and walnut parquet in European houses, and the warmer designs in this range sit naturally in period homes and Federation renovations where the joinery is timber rather than painted. The greys read more contemporary.

What has changed is the construction rather than the look. The core is waterproof SPC, the click profile needs no adhesive, and the factory matte finish never requires sanding or recoating, which is the maintenance a genuine parquet floor would demand. Micro bevel edges keep each block distinct so the pattern reads clearly instead of blurring into a sheet.

Worth raising before you commit: herringbone is set out from the centre of the room and every piece is cut to an angle, so it takes longer to lay and costs more to install than a plank floor. Boxes hold 14 pieces covering 1.09375m2 at 16.5kg.
