Barn Oak - 8mm Aspire RCB Hybrid Flooring

Aspire Barn Oak is a light to mid sandy greige with a khaki cast, closer to weathered fence timber than to a honey oak. Open knots, long split lines and heavy cathedral grain run through every plank, and a few boards carry a faint green-grey wash that shows in daylight. The name is fair. This is a rustic decor and it does not pretend otherwise.

Boards like this carry a room on their own. They suit older cottages, Federation renovations and any space with timber joinery or exposed brick to answer them. They are also the most forgiving finish in a busy household, because scuffs and grit disappear into a surface that already looks worked. In a room that is already full of pattern it becomes one texture too many. Barn Oak sits several shades lighter and greyer than Homestead, and warmer than Silver Moon.

Order the whole job at once and mix planks across cartons as you lay, so the knots and the colour swing spread evenly rather than bunching in one corner.

Aspire is a rigid composite board, 8mm all up: a 6.5mm core with 1.5mm of IXPE acoustic underlay bonded to the back and a 0.7mm wear layer over the print. It comes 1800mm long in either a 178mm or a 223mm width, clicking together on a Valinge profile with a micro bevelled edge. That stiffness is what makes it a renovation floor, because it lays over existing ceramic tiles instead of forcing you to lift them first. Impact noise tested at AAAC 5 Star, L'nTw 43 dB. The core carries no respirable crystalline silica, so nothing of that kind is released when boards are cut on site. Residential cover runs 25 years structural and 20 years on the wear layer. Water resistant rather than waterproof, in-slab hydronic heating only, and the warranty excludes bathrooms and laundries. Supply and install available across Sydney.
