Homestead - 8mm Aspire RCB Hybrid Flooring

Aspire Homestead is a deep reddish chestnut brown, the darkest decor in the Aspire range. Heavy open knots, long split lines and dark mineral streaks run the length of every plank, with lighter caramel sapwood breaking through the darker sections. It reads as reclaimed barn timber rather than a modern oak floor.

A floor this dark sets the tone of a room before anything else in it does. It works best in larger, well lit spaces and against pale walls, where the contrast is the point. In a small room with limited natural light it will close the space in, and Barn Oak or Warm Springs will do the same rustic job several shades lighter. Dark boards also show dust and pet hair sooner than mid tones, which matters more in a hallway than a bedroom.

Lay from several cartons at once and mix the planks as you go. The plank to plank colour swing on Homestead is wide, and working through one carton at a time makes it obvious.

The board measures 1800mm long and 8mm thick, built from a 6.5mm rigid composite core with 1.5mm of IXPE acoustic underlay already attached, topped with a 0.7mm wear layer and an embossed matte finish. Both widths are stocked, 178mm and 223mm. Preference Floors had the range tested by X-ray diffraction and it contains no respirable crystalline silica. Acoustics came back at AAAC 5 Star with an L'nTw of 43 dB, and wet slip resistance at P3 under AS 4586:2013. The residential warranty is 25 years structural and 20 years wear. Keep it indoors and out of wet rooms: this is a water resistant floor, not a waterproof one, and the warranty says so. In-slab hydronic heating only. We supply and install right across Sydney.
