Alcazar is a pale warm greige: soft, quiet and almost free of pattern, the most understated board in the 9mm Bass Timber range.

Plain pale floors are underrated. In a room with patterned furnishings, artwork or busy joinery, a quiet floor is what lets everything else breathe, and the faint warmth here stops it reading as cold the way a true grey can. It also opens up a small room and lifts a space short on natural light.

The reason to look at the 9mm range specifically is the board itself. At 1800 x 230mm these are the longest planks in our flooring catalogue. Long, wide boards mean fewer joins across a floor, which makes a room read larger and calmer than the same colour in a shorter plank. In an open-plan space that difference is obvious.
