Blackbutt in the 9mm range gives you the pale golden tone of the Australian hardwood on the longest and widest board we stock: 1800 x 230mm.
Board size matters more with a light timber look than people expect. Pale floors show every join, so a long wide plank makes a noticeable difference: fewer seams across the room, a calmer surface, and a floor that reads closer to solid timber than a short plank ever does. If you are laying blackbutt across an open-plan area, this is the format to do it in.
The tone itself is bright without being yellow, with a light olive cast through the grain that keeps it contemporary. Solid blackbutt needs sanding and recoating over its life and will cup if water sits on it. This is 100% waterproof and needs neither.
The underlay is already attached, so there is no separate acoustic layer to buy or lay, and the 5G click profile makes for a fast, tight install. 25 years residential and 10 years commercial warranty. Supply and install available across Sydney.
