Select Spotted Gum brings the most depth and the most colour movement of the warm boards in Herringbone 7.0 — a rich mid-brown running from reddish caramel to a darker cocoa, with the banded character of Australian spotted gum carried into a small-format block. It is considerably deeper than Natural Blackbutt and much warmer than Fresco Oak. In herringbone the variation makes the pattern feel handmade rather than printed, and it looks exceptional in period terraces and hospitality fit-outs. It is a lot of floor for a small, dim room to absorb.
Warm, varied mid-browns are the hardest-wearing thing you can specify, visually speaking. Scratches, scuffs, sand and dried footprints all disappear into the existing variation, and later repairs blend in rather than showing as patches. Combined with a herringbone pattern that already breaks up the eye, this is the most forgiving floor in the range for a busy household or a commercial space. It keeps its warmth under lamplight, and it needs enough floor area for the banding and the pattern to settle together.
Herringbone 7.0 is built around the pattern. Each block is 600 x 150mm and 7mm thick, including 1.5mm of pre-attached IXPE acoustic underlay, and the UniZip profile is engineered specifically for the angled joins that herringbone creates rather than adapted from a straight-plank lock. Micro-bevelled edges give every block its own shadow line, and the wearing surface is a 0.55mm layer beneath an anti-bacterial UV coating. Laying it is a more involved job than a plank floor — more cuts, careful setting out and additional labour — which is worth factoring into your planning. The core is waterproof, but a click-together floor is not a waterproof assembly and is not a substitute for a waterproofing membrane; check with us before specifying it for a wet area.
Warranty runs to 25 years residential and 5 years commercial. The board carries an A+ VOC rating, is phthalate free and is fully recyclable at end of life, which makes it a straightforward specification for projects with indoor air quality or sustainability requirements. Supply and install available across Sydney.
