Swish Laminate - New England Blackbutt - 12mm Laminate Flooring

New England Blackbutt is the paler half of this range's blackbutt pairing, which is the reverse of what the two names imply. The swatch is a soft creamy blonde carrying the species' fine straight grain and only light natural streaking, while Blackbutt Light - despite its name - sits a shade deeper and pushes noticeably more gold. If you want the lighter and calmer of the two, this is it. It suits Australian homes with white or warm neutral walls and anyone who wants a floor that reads as recognisably local timber without adding weight. It is less suited to a scheme that needs the floor to anchor the room, because New England stays deliberately quiet.

Pale blonde floors keep a room open and photograph well, which matters for rentals and properties heading to market. The trade-off is that dark grit and pet hair show earlier than they would on a mid-brown, so entry mats do real work here. New England Blackbutt also sits comfortably beside solid blackbutt that has not yet ambered with age, which makes it a sensible extension floor in a house that already has the species elsewhere.

Underneath the decor every Swish Bespoke board is identical: 12mm thick, 1518 x 236mm, matt-finished and micro-bevelled on all four edges. The surface carries EIR embossing - embossed in register - which means the texture is aligned to the printed grain rather than rolled on generically, so what you feel and what you see are the same grain. Other ranges we stock use EIR as well, so it is not exclusive to Swish, but at 12mm with a four-sided bevel it makes each board read as a separate piece of timber. Installation is floating and glueless over underlay on the Välinge 2G locking profile.

The range carries an AC4 abrasion rating, an E1 VOC rating and a 25 year warranty for private use. It is approved for dry interior areas in homes and commercial premises only, so plan a different floor for wet rooms. Supply and install available across Sydney.
