Swish Laminate - Velvet - 12mm Laminate Flooring

Velvet is a warm mid-brown rather than the near-black the name tends to suggest - a tobacco-toned oak with golden undertones and visible plank-to-plank colour drift. It is a genuine mid-tone, comfortably lighter than Fawn and Jarrah, which are the two truly dark decors in the Swish Bespoke range. The nearest board to it here is Sydney Gum: similar depth, but Sydney Gum is more golden and more variegated where Velvet is browner and steadier. It suits warm neutral interiors, rooms with timber or leather furniture, and homes that want a mid-brown floor without drama. It is not the board for a high-contrast scheme built on white walls and black hardware.

Mid-browns are the most forgiving floors to live with: dark enough to absorb grit and light scratching, light enough that they do not show every speck of dust the way a charcoal board does. Velvet is a sensible whole-of-house choice for that reason, and the matt finish keeps footprints and smears off the surface in a way a gloss board in this colour would not.

Underneath the decor every Swish Bespoke board is identical: 12mm thick, 1518 x 236mm, matt-finished and micro-bevelled on all four edges. The surface carries EIR embossing - embossed in register - which means the texture is aligned to the printed grain rather than rolled on generically, so what you feel and what you see are the same grain. Other ranges we stock use EIR as well, so it is not exclusive to Swish, but at 12mm with a four-sided bevel it makes each board read as a separate piece of timber. Installation is floating and glueless over underlay on the Välinge 2G locking profile.

Swish Bespoke is rated AC4 for abrasion, certified E1 for VOC emissions, and specified for dry interior areas of private homes and commercial establishments - not for bathrooms, laundries or anywhere regularly wet. A 25 year warranty applies to private use. Supply and install available across Sydney.
