Lifestyle Collection EPC Hybrid Flooring
Lifestyle Collection sits at the top of Preference Floors' hybrid line-up, and two numbers explain why. It is 12mm, the thickest hybrid they make, and the wear layer is 0.7mm commercial grade vinyl where residential hybrid typically runs 0.3mm to 0.5mm. The wear layer is the figure that decides how a floor looks in year eight rather than year one. Nine colours on an 1800 x 225mm board.
The core is EPC, a composite polymer and stone fibre construction, which is distinct from the SPC and WPC cores used across the rest of the hybrid market. A 2mm IXPE acoustic pad comes bonded underneath, so there is no separate underlay to buy or lay and the floor is meaningfully quieter than a bare click floor.
The surface is a matte PU finish rated P4 for wet slip under AS/NZS 4586:2013. Boards click together as a floating floor, and Preference specify installation over 200 micron builders film. Cartons cover 1.215m2 and carry three different lengths, which is what stops the end joints lining up in rows across a room.
Be clear on where it can go. Incidental spills and pet accidents are covered, but this range is not rated for bathrooms, laundries or powder rooms, and no click floor is a substitute for a waterproof membrane.
Warranty is 25 years limited structural, 20 years on the residential wear layer and 5 years commercial. Sydney supply and install, supply only, or bring your own installer.
