Spotted Gum in the 7mm range is a mid honey-brown with the wavy fiddleback figure and black gum vein marks that make the species recognisable, and a clear spread between honey and deeper brown planks. Of the six 7mm colours, it and Blackbutt are the two that read as Australian timber.
Spotted gum tones suit warm and neutral walls, brass and black fittings, and real timber joinery, and the variation between boards hides wear well. Because the boards do vary, open several boxes and mix them as you lay, or the darker planks will cluster in one part of the room.
The board is 1520mm by 230mm and 7mm thick, six to a 2.0976m2 box weighing 22.59kg. The acoustic underlay is already attached and the core is 100 percent waterproof, so it is suitable for kitchens and laundries as well as living areas.
The warranty runs 25 years residential and 10 years commercial. The 8mm and 9mm ranges carry Spotted Gum too, on longer boards of 1540mm and 1800mm.
