Concrete Beige is the only non-timber decor in the Guardian range, and it is worth saying plainly that it reads as pale grey concrete rather than as a beige. The warmth is there but it is faint. The surface is cloudy and mottled the way poured concrete is, laid in large rectangles rather than narrow boards.
The reason to choose it over real concrete or a large-format tile is comfort and noise. Polished concrete is cold, hard and loud underfoot, and it needs sealing. This gives the same visual language with a floor that is warmer to stand on, quieter to walk on, fully waterproof and does not etch when something acidic is spilled on it.
The acoustic point is what usually decides apartment jobs. Guardian was tested at AAAC 5 Star with an L'nTw of 44 dB, where the BCA 2016 minimum is 62 dB. A tile or concrete look normally struggles to get approval in strata; this one has the test result behind it.
Each piece is 1500 x 228mm over a 5mm rigid SPC core with 1.5mm of IXPE acoustic underlay bonded on. Slip resistance is P4 to AS 4586:2013, which matters more on a stone look than on a timber one, since a concrete aesthetic usually ends up in kitchens, laundries and entries.
