Guardian White Oak is the palest board in the range, a near off-white warm-neutral greige with the finest grain and the lowest contrast of the fourteen. It is lighter than Chester Oak and warmer than Estate Grey, and it is the closest thing here to a limed Scandinavian floor.
Very pale floors make a room feel larger and bounce light deep into spaces that do not get much of it, which is why they suit narrow hallways, small bedrooms and south-facing living rooms. The cost is honest to state: dust, hair and dried footprints show sooner on a pale floor than on a mid tone, so it asks for more frequent sweeping rather than harder cleaning.
Keep the walls a shade different from the floor rather than matching them. Two near-identical whites at eye level and underfoot flatten a room; a warm white wall against this floor gives it somewhere to sit.
Boards are 1500mm by 228mm, six per 2.052m2 pack. The core is 5mm rigid SPC with 1.5mm IXPE acoustic underlay attached at the factory, so the floor tested at AAAC 5 Star for impact noise straight out of the box. Clean it with a pH-neutral product and a damp mop. Steam mops are not permitted on Guardian and will void the 25 year limited structural warranty.
