Product information
Product information

Atlas is the darkest board in the Godfrey Hirst Olympus Neo range: a near-black deep brown with quiet, understated grain and very little tonal variation from plank to plank. It is the most dramatic floor in the range and the least forgiving: dust, lint and footprints show on a floor this dark in a way they do not on anything else here. The matte finish helps considerably, because sheen is what makes marks visible, but it is worth knowing before you commit. Pandora is a genuine step back from it if you want the depth with more room for error.

What makes Olympus Neo worth specifying is thickness. At 2.5mm it is the thinnest floor we stock, and because it is direct stick, bonded to the substrate rather than floating, it barely raises the floor level. In a renovation that usually means doors, kitchen kickboards and the transitions across to tile or carpet stay exactly as they are, which is often what keeps a job affordable. Glued down it is silent underfoot, with none of the hollow click of a floating floor, no bounce and no perimeter expansion gaps to hide.

It is covered by a 25 year Godfrey Hirst limited residential warranty, and the performance data is stronger than the thickness implies: Group T abrasion, the top class for vinyl, a Commercial 33 heavy-duty classification under EN ISO 10874, P3 slip resistance, and residual indentation of only 0.03mm, so heavy furniture will not leave permanent dents. A flat, dry, properly prepared substrate is essential. Supply and install available across Sydney.
