Blackbutt - 8mm Oakleaf HD Plus Laminate Flooring

Blackbutt on the 8mm Oakleaf HD Plus board: the same light warm golden-tan with a soft, even grain as the 12mm version, and the same restrained reading of the species that makes it more convincing than the heavily saturated golden-ambers sold under the name elsewhere. The decor is identical; only the board changes.

The 8mm plank measures 1215mm x 195mm against the 12mm's 2200mm x 196mm, so there are more end joins across a room. Blackbutt's grain is subtle and evenly spaced, which means the joins are a little more visible here than on a high-variation colour, worth knowing if the floor is running down a long hallway, where the 12mm board is the better answer. What carries over unchanged is the print quality, the AC4 wear rating, the super matte coating and the 48 hour water-resistant system: a T Seam tight lock click profile, moisture-protection treated bevel edges and an independently tested water-resistant core, rather than a bare claim.

The warranty matches the thicker board: 25 years limited structural and 20 years on the finish, along with GOLD Greenguard certification for low chemical emissions. P3 slip under AS 4586, micro bevel on all four sides, floating click installation.

Blackbutt has been the default new-build floor across Sydney for two decades, and the 8mm board is the way to get that look into a unit, a rental or a bedroom refresh without the 12mm price.
