Swish Aqua - QLD Spotted Gum - 12.3mm Laminate Flooring

QLD Spotted Gum is a warm mid caramel rather than the deep chocolate the name is usually attached to - a tan-brown board with soft golden tones and the species' variation present but gentle. Set beside the others the ranking is not what you would guess: plain Spotted Gum is the deepest and reddest of this range's four, QLD sits a clear step lighter and warmer, NSW Spotted Gum is greyer and more muted, and Spotted Gum Light is paler again. Choose QLD if you want spotted gum at an easy mid-tone. It is not the board if you want genuine depth and richness - that is plain Spotted Gum.

Warm mid-tones are the most practical thing you can put on a floor: dark enough to absorb grit and everyday marking, light enough to keep a room open, and familiar enough that they will not date. QLD Spotted Gum is a strong match for cream and warm white walls, brick and warm stone, and it will sit beside existing spotted gum joinery without the jarring depth difference a darker decor would bring.

Every board in the Swish Aqua range is built the same way: 12.3mm thick, 2200 x 196mm, micro-bevelled, and joined with the Välinge 5G locking profile so the floor goes down floating and glueless over underlay. What you are really buying is the Aqua core - a core engineered to resist moisture, which is why the range is not restricted to dry areas the way conventional laminate is. Be clear-eyed about it though: resisting moisture is not the same as being waterproof, and laminate never is. Have a conversation with us before specifying Aqua for a bathroom or laundry.
