Swish Aqua - Smooth Blackbutt - 12.3mm Laminate Flooring

Smooth Blackbutt is the calm, pale half of this range's blackbutt pairing - a soft creamy blonde with a light golden undertone, the grain figuring and board-to-board variation reduced so the floor lays down as an even, quiet field. It differs from plain Blackbutt in depth as well as character: Blackbutt is a clear step deeper, a warm golden caramel with knots and colour drift left in. Choose Smooth Blackbutt for minimal and contemporary interiors where an active floor would be a distraction. Avoid it if you want the floor to look convincingly like sawn hardwood.

Even, low-contrast floors photograph beautifully and make large open-plan areas feel bigger, which is why they dominate new builds and display homes. The trade-off is honest: with less pattern to hide behind, scratches and marks show earlier than they would on a variegated decor, so rugs at entries are worth planning for.

Swish Laminate Aqua is a 12.3mm laminate on a long 2200 x 196mm board - a genuinely long plank that stretches a room visually and cuts the number of end joints across a floor. Edges are micro-bevelled and boards join with the Välinge 5G locking profile, a drop-and-lock system that floats glueless over underlay without tapping blocks. The functional difference is the Aqua core, which resists moisture instead of swelling at the first spill. That is resistance, not waterproofing - laminate is never waterproof - so talk to us before specifying it for a bathroom or laundry. For kitchens, entries and family living it is far more forgiving than a conventional laminate core.

VOC emissions are certified below E1, packs run 2.16 m2 over five boards and weigh 23kg, and the range is approved for interior areas in homes and commercial premises. A 25 year warranty covers private use. Supply and install available across Sydney.
