XXL 8.0 - Oak Saffron - 8mm Hybrid Flooring

Warm without being loud, Oak Saffron is a light-to-mid tan oak with a soft caramel cast and gentle, even variation across the plank. It is deeper and more golden-brown than Oak Titanium and calmer and less knotty than Coastal Blackbutt. It is an easy floor to live with and an easy one to decorate around, which is why it turns up so often in family homes and apartment refurbishments across Sydney. It is not the board for a cool, grey-toned scheme, where its warmth will read as slightly dated against the walls.

This is close to the ideal tone for a busy house. Warm mid-browns conceal both light dust and dark grit better than any other part of the spectrum, and the gentle grain covers the fine scratching that any floor picks up over a few years. Oak Saffron keeps its warmth under artificial light, which matters in living rooms used mostly after dark, and it brightens south-facing rooms without the coldness of a grey. It is equally at home in a narrow hallway and a large open-plan living space.

XXL 8.0 is named for the plank: 1511 x 229mm, long enough to cut down the number of joins across a room and make an open-plan space read as one continuous floor. The board is 8mm thick including 1.5mm of IXPE acoustic underlay already attached to the back, so no separate underlay is needed. A 0.55mm wear layer and an anti-bacterial UV coating protect the surface, the edges are micro-bevelled, and the boards lock together on a Välinge 5G profile and float over the substrate. The core is a waterproof rigid core, but a click-together floor is not a waterproof assembly and is not a substitute for a waterproofing membrane — talk to us before specifying it for a wet area.

It is covered by a 25 year residential and 5 year commercial warranty, rated A+ for VOC emissions, phthalate free and 100% recyclable at the end of its life. Supply and install available across Sydney.
