Bonita Engineered Timber Flooring
Bonita is HTT Flooring's entry engineered European oak: a 14mm board with a 2mm oak wear veneer, 1900mm long and 190mm wide. Ten colours.
Be clear about what the 2mm veneer means, because it is the difference between this range and the others. It is real oak on the surface, so the floor looks and wears like timber rather than a print. But 2mm supports roughly one light sanding over the floor's life, where Quercus at 4mm supports several. If the floor is going into a rental, a quick renovation or a room you expect to redo in fifteen years, that is fine and the saving is real. If you are laying a floor you intend to keep and refinish, Quercus is the better long-term buy.
Boards are graded ABCD, so natural knots and colour variation are part of the floor rather than a defect. The finish is a 5 to 8 percent matte with micro bevelled edges and a Tongue and Groove profile, which can be glued down or floated over underlay. Boxes hold 6 boards covering 2.166 square metres at 20.3kg.
As with any engineered timber, the boards need acclimatising in the room before installation begins. Sydney supply and install, supply only, or bring your own installer.
