Brescia - 14/2mm Bonita Engineered Timber Flooring

Bonita Brescia is the darkest board in the range, a charcoal so deep it reads almost black, with a faint green-grey cast and the oak grain showing through as a slightly lighter figure. The oak grain is still there under the colour, and it shows when the light catches it.

Floors this dark are for rooms with height, light and not much on the floor. Pale walls, pale rugs and pale upholstery give the boards something to sit against; a dark floor with dark joinery and heavy curtains shrinks a room quickly. Dust and pale pet hair show on it, which is the honest trade for the drama.

Bonita is real timber. Each board is 14mm thick with a 2mm European oak veneer over cross-laminated plywood, 1900mm long and 190mm wide, with a tongue and groove profile that can be glued down or floated on a PVA-glued joint. The finish is a 5 to 8 percent gloss matt built from seven UV-cured coats.

Boards are graded ABCD, which means knots, checks, colour variation and medullary rays are part of the floor rather than defects. Six boards make a 2.166m2 pack at 20.3kg. HTT covers the structure for 25 years and the finish for 7 years in a residential installation, and the warranty excludes wet areas and steam mops.
