Cuban - 14/2mm Bonita Engineered Timber Flooring

Bonita Cuban is a deep red-brown oak with a strong cathedral grain in near-black, a colour closer to jarrah or a dark mahogany than to any natural oak. It is the warm dark board in the range, where Brescia is the cool one.

Deep red floors suit period homes, formal living rooms and any space with cream or white walls and enough daylight to lift the colour. They flatter brass, timber furniture and antique pieces. In a small or dim room the red turns heavy, and against grey joinery it fights, so it is a floor for a scheme built around it rather than added to one.

It is a real timber floor: a 2mm European oak veneer bonded to cross-laminated plywood, 14mm thick, in 1900 x 190mm boards with a tongue and groove profile. Install by direct stick or floating with a PVA-glued joint. The surface is a 5 to 8 percent matt over seven UV-cured coats, with a micro bevel on all four sides.

Grade is ABCD, so expect knots and colour movement between boards. Packs hold six boards, 2.166m2, and weigh 20.3kg. HTT's residential warranty covers the structure for 25 years and the finish for 7, and it excludes wet areas, steam mops and rooms kept above 26 degrees.
