Water Front takes the cool grey of Central Ave several steps deeper, landing in mid-dark territory without ever becoming a charcoal. It is the colour most people are looking for when they say they want a grey carpet that will not show everything: dark enough to absorb the traffic through a hallway and up a staircase, light enough that a room still feels open rather than closed in. Against Manor Inn it is honestly grey with no blue undertone, and against Downtown and Cove Beach it is far from black, sitting comfortably in the middle-dark band of the Naples palette. Good choices for it are stair runs, upstairs landings, open-plan living and rumpus rooms. The one honest caution is the same for any darker carpet: pale lint, light pet hair and dropped tissue show up on it more than they do on a mid tone, so keep pale-shedding rugs and throws off it. If the room is small or already short of light, Central Ave will keep it feeling larger.
