Queensland Spotted Gum - 9.5mm Duro Plus Hybrid Flooring

Duro Plus Queensland Spotted Gum is a mid to dark red-brown with fiddleback figure and a rust cast, noticeably redder than the plain Spotted Gum in the same range. Where that board runs honey to chocolate, this one runs terracotta to mahogany, and it reads closer to a red ironbark than to the greyer spotted gum sold in the southern states.

Red-brown floors are warm, formal and unforgiving of clutter, and they want light above them. Cream or warm white walls, pale furniture and a plain rug give the floor room to work; red floor with red-toned timber furniture tips a room into heaviness quickly. Under warm LED globes the red deepens further, so check it under the lighting you actually have.

The board is Duro Plus, HTT's 9.5mm hybrid: an 8mm rigid core, 1.5mm of acoustic underlay bonded on and a 0.5mm wear layer, 1800mm long and 228mm wide. The extra length over a 1500mm board means fewer end joins to break up the figure.

Embossed matt finish, micro bevel on all four sides, drop lock click and a floating installation with no glue. Packs are three boards, 1.2312m2, 22kg. Slip resistance is P3 on the wet pendulum test to AS 4586:2013, and the residential structural warranty is 25 years.
