Guardian Chester Oak is a light warm greige-tan with soft open grain and mild variation between boards. It is the gentlest of the pale decors here, warmer than Natural Oak Grey and less washed out than White Oak, which makes it the safest default in the range for a whole-house job.
Pale warm neutrals are what most people actually mean when they ask for a light timber floor. This one holds its colour under both cool southern light and hot western afternoon sun, which is where warmer boards tip orange and cooler ones go flat and grey.
If you are putting a floor into an apartment, this is the spec line that matters: Guardian was tested at AAAC 5 Star for impact noise, with an L'nTw of 44 dB against a 45 dB threshold for five stars and a BCA 2016 minimum of 62 dB. Plenty of bodies corporate set a minimum star rating in their by-laws, and a hard floor that cannot meet it will not get approval.
That rating comes from the 1.5mm IXPE acoustic underlay bonded to the back of every plank, so there is nothing extra to buy. The board is 1500 x 228mm over a 5mm rigid SPC core, matt, with a four-sided micro bevel. Residential use is covered by a 25 year limited structural warranty, and commercial use by a 5 year limited wear warranty.
