Guardian Dexter Oak is a mid grey-brown with heavy open grain, visible knots and the sharpest plank-to-plank variation in the range after Spotted Gum. Some boards come through noticeably paler and some clearly darker, and that spread is the point of the decor rather than a fault in it.
This is the floor for a room that needs to look lived in. Against white walls and simple joinery it reads as a rustic timber floor rather than a printed one, and it carries scuffs, sand and pet traffic better than any of the smooth pale boards here.
Because the variation is wide, order the whole job in one go and open several packs together when you lay. Batch toning is normal on a printed floor, and mixing across packs is what stops the pale boards clustering in one corner of the room.
Planks are 1500 x 228mm, six to a pack covering 2.052m2. The construction is a 5mm rigid SPC core with 1.5mm IXPE acoustic underlay bonded on at the factory, matt finished with a micro bevel on four sides. Residential installations are covered by a 25 year limited structural warranty, and commercial jobs by a 5 year limited wear warranty. Guardian is an interior floor and outdoor use voids the warranty.
