Arctic Fox - 12mm Oakleaf HD Plus Laminate Flooring

Arctic Fox is the palest board in the Preference Floors Oakleaf HD Plus range: a near-white cream with only the faintest grain showing through and almost no tonal shift between planks. It is the floor to choose when you want the room to feel as large and as light as it possibly can, or when the joinery, artwork or a rug should be doing all the work. The honest trade-off is that very pale floors show dark grit and hair more readily than mid tones, so an entry mat earns its keep. Alpine Mist is a step warmer if this reads too stark.

On a board this plain, the print quality is what stops it looking like vinyl, and this is a high definition digital print with 30 pattern repeats, against the six to ten that most laminates cycle through. The less pattern there is to hide behind, the more a short repeat gives itself away, so the 30 repeats matter more here than on any other colour in the range. The planks are 2200mm long and 196mm wide, which keeps end joins to a minimum across an open-plan floor.

AC4 rated for everyday residential wear, with a 48 hour water-resistant core and a moisture-protection treated V4 micro bevel, so a spill has time to be found and wiped before it reaches the joint. Super matte coating keeps reflections down, which matters most on pale floors under downlights. Välinge click floating installation, P3 slip rating under AS 4586, and GOLD Greenguard Certified for low chemical emissions. Preference back it with a 25 year limited structural warranty and 20 years on the finish.

Worth being clear about one limitation: suitable over in-slab hydronic heating only, not electric underfloor heating mats. Supply and install available across Sydney.
