PRODUCT INFORMATION
PRODUCT INFORMATION

Clove is cooler than the name suggests. Rather than the warm spice brown you might picture, it is a muted mid grey-brown: the grey holding the warmth in check and keeping it from going orange in afternoon light. That makes it one of the most useful mid-tones in the Preference Floors Oakleaf HD Plus range: dark enough to give a room some weight, neutral enough to sit against either warm or cool joinery, and forgiving of the marks that show quickly on very pale or very dark boards. If you want genuine warmth at this depth, Hickory and Bedrock are the two to compare it against.

The reason to choose this over a cheaper laminate is the print: a high definition digital print with 30 pattern repeats, against the six to ten most laminates manage. On a mid-tone with moderate grain, a short repeat tends to reveal itself right when the floor runs into a long hallway. The planks are 2200mm long and 196mm wide, so there are far fewer end joins across an open-plan space.

AC4 rated for everyday residential wear, with a 48 hour water-resistant core and a moisture-protection treated V4 micro bevel, so spills have time to be found before they reach the joint. Super matte coating, Välinge click floating installation, P3 slip under AS 4586, and GOLD Greenguard Certified for low chemical emissions. Preference back it with a 25 year limited structural warranty and 20 years on the finish.

One limitation: suitable over in-slab hydronic heating only, not electric underfloor heating mats. Supply and install available across Sydney.
