Spotted Gum here is a mid warm brown with a reddish cast and strong striping through the grain: a fair reading of the species, which runs honey through amber to mid brown with far more plank-to-plank variation than oak. It is the most characterful board in the Preference Floors Oakleaf HD Plus range, and it wants a room with some space: across a large open-plan floor it looks generous, but in a small room the variation can get busy.
This is exactly the colour where pattern repeat matters most. Spotted gum's figure is distinctive and irregular, so the eye recognises a repeated board instantly, and this is a high definition digital print with 30 pattern repeats, against the six to ten most laminates cycle through. The planks are 2200mm long and 196mm wide, which suits a high-variation species: long, wide boards give each plank's figure room to read rather than chopping it up.
AC4 rated for everyday residential wear, with a 48 hour water-resistant core and a moisture-protection treated V4 micro bevel. Super matte coating, Välinge click floating installation, P3 slip under AS 4586, and GOLD Greenguard Certified for low chemical emissions. Preference back it with a 25 year limited structural warranty and 20 years on the finish.
One limitation: suitable over in-slab hydronic heating only, not electric underfloor heating. Supply and install available across Sydney.
