Zenith 1800 - Astral Slate - 10mm Hybrid

Astral Slate is the true grey of the Godfrey Hirst Zenith 1800 range — a mid cool grey with just enough brown underneath to stop it reading blue, and clear striation running the length of the board. Grey floors went out of fashion for a few years and then quietly came back, and this is the version that lasts: warm enough not to feel cold underfoot, grey enough to actually do the job. If you were drawn to Lunar Ash expecting grey and found it too pale and cream, this is the board you were looking for.

Zenith 1800 is embossed in register, which few hybrid floors are — the texture is physically aligned to the grain printed beneath it rather than rolled on at random. On grey boards that matters more than most people expect, because grey is the colour where a printed timber look most easily slips into looking like vinyl, and registered texture is what keeps it reading as timber. Underneath sits a Trigon aerated acoustic M-Core with 1.5mm acoustic backing already bonded on, so it is noticeably quieter underfoot than standard hybrid with no separate underlay to buy or lay. Godfrey Hirst cover it with a 25 year limited residential warranty, and it is rated P5 for slip resistance under AS 4586 — the highest wet-slip classification, which very few timber-look floors achieve.
