Antique - 7.5mm Easi-Plank Hybrid Flooring

Easi-Plank Antique is a mid to dark warm brown oak with smooth, even grain and little variation between boards, the colour of a traditionally stained oak floor. It is the browner of the two dark boards in the range; Smoked Spotted Gum is darker and carries the species figure.

A warm mid-dark brown is the least risky of the dark floors. It grounds a room without shutting it in, works with cream, white and stone walls, and sits happily beside both timber and painted joinery. It hides mid-tone dust; pale pet hair will show. Under cool white downlights it flattens, so a warmer globe helps.

Easi-Plank is a stone polymer composite board, 7.5mm thick including 1.5mm of IXPE acoustic underlay already bonded to the back, with a 0.5mm wear layer. The rigid SPC core is why it lays over existing tiles with little telegraphing of grout lines, and it floats on a Unilin click with no glue. Boards are 1520mm long in 180mm or 228mm widths.

It tested P4 on the wet pendulum slip test to AS 4586:2013, a class above the P3 that Preference Floors' own Iconic and Aspire ranges tested, and AAAC 5 Star for impact noise at L'nTw 42 dB. The core carries no respirable crystalline silica. It is water resistant for interior rooms rather than waterproof, rated for in-slab hydronic heating only, and Preference Floors covers it for 25 years structurally and 20 years on wear in a home.
