Natural Blackbutt - 7.5mm Easi-Plank Hybrid Flooring

Read this one from the swatch. Easi-Plank Natural Blackbutt is a pale peach-tan, smooth, with fine straight grain and the odd dark fleck, and it is pinker than blackbutt lays as a solid timber. Real blackbutt is pale gold with a faint olive edge; this board leans apricot. If the species look is what you want, Natural Spotted Gum in the same range is the more convincing of the two.

Treated as a warm pale board rather than a species match, it works well. It suits cream, warm white and blush walls, rattan, linen and pale timber, and it lifts a south-facing room. Cool grey joinery will fight the pink, so if the kitchen is grey, Porcelain or Silver Grey will sit more easily.

Easi-Plank is stone polymer composite, 7.5mm including 1.5mm of IXPE acoustic underlay bonded to the back, with a 0.5mm wear layer and a water-based matte finish. It floats on a Unilin click with a V4 micro bevel, in 1520mm boards at 180mm or 228mm wide.

Wet slip tested P4 to AS 4586:2013, a class above the P3 on Iconic and Aspire from the same supplier, and impact noise tested AAAC 5 Star, L'nTw 42 dB, FIIC 67. No respirable crystalline silica in the core. Interior water resistant rather than waterproof, in-slab hydronic heating only, and a 25 year structural, 20 year wear residential warranty.
