Naples - Beach Walk - 9mm Cut Pile Carpet

Beach Walk is a pale cool grey carried by a quiet green cast, the sort of colour that looks almost white against a dark floor and distinctly grey-green against a white wall. It is the cool answer to Surf Side and Little Harbour, both of which sit on the warm, sandy side of the Naples palette, and it is the pale relative of Pier One, which is the same green-grey idea at mid depth. Specify it in homes built around cool white paint, pale grey tile, chrome or matt black tapware and light European oak. Where it struggles is in a warm interior with cream joinery, terracotta or honey-toned timber, because the green undertone will look slightly cold and washed out beside them. In that setting, Little Harbour does the same job in the right temperature.

This is a Belgotex tufted cut pile carpet in 100% solution dyed nylon, 9.0mm total thickness, on an Action Fleece backing. The construction is a low, dense cut pile rather than a deep plush, which is the right choice for a pale colour: there is less pile movement, so the room does not fill up with vacuum lines and shading every time it is cleaned.

Solution dying puts the colour into the nylon itself. In practice that means Beach Walk will not fade through a sunny north-facing room and will accept aggressive spot cleaning without going patchy, which is exactly the insurance a light grey floor needs. The roll is 4.0m wide, so most bedrooms and hallways can be laid without a seam. Belgotex classify Naples as Extra Heavy Duty Residential, the top grade for a home, with only a Light Duty Commercial rating alongside it. It will take everything a busy family house produces; it is not the carpet to put into an office or a retail fitout.
