Blackbutt - 8mm Aquastop Laminate Flooring

A word of warning on the name. Aquastop Blackbutt is a mid grey-brown with a clear mauve cast, cooler and greyer than the Australian species it is named after. If you are matching to real blackbutt timber already in the house, this will read as a different floor. Taken on its own it is a handsome muted taupe with soft grain movement and low plank-to-plank contrast.

That greyed-off brown is easier to furnish than a true golden blackbutt. It sits with cool greys and warm neutrals alike, which is why it tends to get chosen for rentals and resale renovations where the buyer is unknown.

Aquastop is Preference Floors' water resistant laminate, made by the Swiss Krono Group. This is the 8mm board, 1380 x 193 x 8mm, covering 2.131m2 per carton. It is rated AC5 for abrasion, which is a step above the AC4 laminate common at this price, and the core is engineered to hold out topical spills for 48 hours. Warranty runs 35 years limited structural and 5 years limited commercial.

Laminate is not a wet area floor. Supply and install across Sydney, supply only if you are laying it yourself, or supply with support for your own installer.
