Baltimore - Dolomite - 10mm Patterned Cut Pile Carpet

Dolomite is Baltimore's mid cool grey, and it is the highest-contrast of the greys in the range. The two-tone speckle reads more strongly here than it does in the paler colours, so the mottled pattern is visibly part of the design rather than a subtle texture. Set it against Chalk and the gap is large: Chalk is a pale, quiet grey, Dolomite is several shades down with real presence. It is cleaner and more neutral than Marble, which carries a sage-green cast. Dolomite is the sensible mid grey for a house that wants a grey floor but cannot live with a pale one. It pairs with white, charcoal, blue-grey and black without argument. If you want the pattern to recede almost to nothing, Marble or Chalk will do that; Dolomite deliberately does not.

Belgotex build Baltimore as a tufted patterned cut pile, and in a mid grey the effect is exactly what a busy floor needs. The flecked, two-tone surface breaks up the sightline across a room, so crumbs, lint, pet hair and the darkened traffic lanes that appear on landings and in corridors are far harder to pick out than they would be on a plain grey cut pile. It is a mid tone as well, which is the sweet spot: dark enough to hide pale debris, light enough not to show fluff.

The yarn is 100% Premium Solution Dyed Nylon: pigment added while the nylon is still in liquid form, so the colour is locked into the fibre rather than applied to the surface of it. That makes Dolomite stain proof and fade proof, cleanable with strong chemistry, and stable in sunlight over the long term. The fibre is anti-allergenic. The backing is FusionBac, a reinforced construction that holds the 4.0m broadloom flat and stable through wide rooms, corridors and stair nosings. The warranty is 20 years residential and 10 years commercial, the longest Belgotex place on carpet.
