Baltimore - Graphene - 10mm Patterned Cut Pile Carpet

Graphene is a dark charcoal-grey, mottled through with Baltimore's two-tone fleck so that it reads as a textured dark floor rather than a solid slab of charcoal. It is a clear step darker than Dolomite while staying recognisably grey: where Carbonite goes almost to black, Graphene stops short and keeps enough light in it to show the pattern. That makes it the practical dark choice in the range: enough depth to anchor a room with pale walls or a lot of glazing, without the density that makes a near-black floor feel heavy in a small space. It suits studies, media rooms, stairs and commercial fitouts. In a dark room with little natural light, it will close the space in further, and Dolomite is the safer grey.

Baltimore is Belgotex's patterned Premium SDN carpet, and on a dark colour the mottle solves the problem dark carpet usually has. A plain charcoal shows pale lint, dust and vacuum tracks; the two-tone flecking tufted through Graphene breaks the surface up so that those things disappear into it. Combined with the fact that dark tones already hide soil and scuffing well, it makes this one of the most maintainable floors in the range, which is why it is worth considering for hallways, home offices, rentals and any staircase that gets real use.

The fibre is 100% Premium Solution Dyed Nylon. The pigment is added to the nylon in liquid form, so colour sits inside the fibre rather than on it: stain proof, fade proof, cleanable without patchiness, and resistant to the sun-bleaching that dark carpets in bright Sydney rooms are otherwise prone to. It is anti-allergenic as well. The FusionBac reinforced backing keeps the 4.0m broadloom dimensionally stable, useful for wide rooms where seams are best avoided and for stairs where the carpet is worked hard around nosings. Total thickness is 10.0mm, rated Extra Heavy Duty Residential and Heavy Duty Commercial.

Belgotex warrant it for 20 years residential and 10 years commercial, the longest carpet warranty they offer. They hold ISO 14001 certification and have set Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) targets, solution dying uses no water, and the carpet is low VOC emitting.
